Here is a passage from our Endowment Initiative Report about John:Adjacent to the Faith Walk is Babe’s Rosary Garden, named in memory of Babe Canuso, who, at age 9, was diagnosed with leukemia – the same year Discovery Ministries was founded. She was a significant catalyst for the building of the first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. Her father, John Canuso, a prominent builder in South Jersey, partnered with Jim Murray, then General Manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, to launch what would become a multinational organization serving the needs of the families of children with cancer. John Canuso designed and managed the construction of Babe’s Rosary Garden, which features a beautiful stone fountain surrounded by a paved path with red and white ceramic-type roses representing each bead of the Rosary. Four-sided illuminated kiosks also facilitate meditation of the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary.
